"An app cannot replace a real coach." That is true. But it is also not what Caddium is trying to do. AI swing analysis is not a replacement — it is an addition that works, and it puts affordable, objective feedback within reach of every golfer for the first time.
What AI can do
An AI swing analysis looks at the biomechanics of your movement: the angles of your hips, shoulders and knees throughout the swing. It measures what actually happens — without an opinion, without a preference, and without the pressure of an expensive lesson where you have to get everything right in one hour.
The strength of AI comes down to three things:
- Repeatability — the same swing gives the same measurements. No "it looked different today."
- Speed — you have feedback within minutes, not in two weeks at your next lesson.
- Accessibility — all you need is your phone. No appointment, no travel, no €80 an hour.
What AI cannot do (and should not try to)
AI does not understand pain. It does not know you pulled your back yesterday, or that your left wrist is stiff from an old injury. A human coach does see that — and adapts the exercise.
AI does not know your game. It sees one swing, not your misses from the last three rounds. It cannot ask, "How did that shot feel?" And it cannot reassure you when you are frustrated.
That is why Caddium says explicitly: this is coaching feedback, not a replacement for lessons with a professional. Use it as an addition — as a mirror you can consult every week, between lessons.
The sweet spot: AI plus human
The ideal combination is not AI or coach. It is AI and coach. You film your swing weekly with Caddium, you get objective measurements and one concrete point to improve, and you take those insights into your next lesson. Your coach no longer has to start from zero — he sees straight away where you stand.
That is where AI swing analysis works: not as a replacement, but as an accelerator of your development.
